Cover Me: Hot Chip & Postal Service

I love a good cover song. Some of the best known songs are actually cover songs: Jimi Hendrix covering Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower", Aretha Franklin covering Otis Redding's "Respect" or Soft Cell's cover of the Gloria Jones song "Tainted Love". There have been some truly terrible covers (example: Eric Clapton's cover of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door") but for the most part, covers are a fun way to pay homage/breathe new life into a piece of music. The hypothetical here is that the singer/group does an entire album of handpicked covers.

Hot Chip:

1. Uncertain Smile (The The cover)
2. Look of Love (ABC cover)
3. What Have I Done to Deserve This? (Pet Shop Boys cover)
4. Avalon (Roxy Music cover)
5. Face to Face (Code Blue cover)
5. With or Without You (U2 cover)
6. All Through The Night (Cyndi Lauper cover)
7. Why (Annie Lennox cover)
8. Toy Soldiers (Martika cover)
9. All Day Long (New Order cover)
10. One on One (Hall & Oates cover)
11. Is This Love (Whitesnake cover)
12. Reap the Wild Wind (Ultravox cover)

Postal Service:

1. Don't You Want Me (Human Leage cover)

5. Trouble Me (10,000 Maniacs cover)
6. So Far Away (Dire Straits cover)
7. Every Little Kiss (Bruce Hornsby & The Range cover)
8. Waiting on a Friend (Rolling Stones cover)
9. One More Night (Phil Collins cover)
10. Seasons Change (Expose cover)
11. Don't Shed a Tear (Paul Carrack cover)
